Faith, hope, and a lot of dirty dishes
I know it sounds cheesy, but I love God's Word. Sitting at a table with stacks of Bible commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and notes truly is my happy place. I gave my life to God in my teens, and never looked back. Life has been challenging, but God has always been enough. Through it all, I have always been able to find the answers in scripture. There is so much for us within those pages, but I completely understand that there simply isn't always enough time to look. I also understand that not everyone gets as excited as I do about searching up an ancient Greek custom or the root of a Hebrew word. That is why I feel so passionately about sharing these devotions. I do the geeky stuff so you don't have to!
Just a bit about who I am:
I have been married to my best friend for almost 22 years - that's a lot of dirty dishes and missing socks! There have been bumps in the road, but I wouldn't change one thing. We have three children: Johnathan (soon to be 19), Owen (14), and Katherine (2). Can you see God's sense of humor? They say having a child later in life (my husband turns 50 in this year) keeps you young. I think it just reminds you that you passed young a while ago. Katie may have gotten parents who creek when they stand up, but she also got parents with tons more patience and experience than her oldest brother had at her age.
We live in rural eastern Montana in the United States. I started teaching Sunday school and Bible studies twenty years ago, and still love it immensely. I have written nine books (three of them Christian fiction) for which I have won awards. I teach nineth grade for a very small Christian school and have fallen in love with all 6 of my students - though my son is my favorite. :-) Because my husband works nights, I get to sneak off to my little corner of the house after the kids are asleep and write. It is one of my favorite times of the day, and I am so blessed to get to share some of that with you through this website.
